You can't make me!

As with sleeping, talking, and growing teeth, Matthew has little interest in walking. He has numerous "walking" toys but prefers to sit on the floor and push the buttons on them. I bought this new, button-free walking toy in hopes that it would initiate some excitement about walking. As you can see from the video, my plan was foiled. I was outsmarted by my baby.

I told Scott last night that with Matthew's great throwing skills, he might end up a Major League pitcher one day...but if he refuses to walk forever, I envision him only be drafted by the American League since they have Designated Hitters for their pitchers. I can just see it now...the team mascot carrying Matthew out to the pitching mound...he pitches three strike-outs in a row...then the mascot carrying him back off the field and into the dugout.

Hahahahaha!!!

He is a smart one, that Matthew. :) Not to be outwitted by the walking toy!! LOL. Such a cute video! Love when he crawls away at the end. Made me laugh.

He could always crawl out to the pitching mound. :)

Tish,

Your Matthew reminds me so much of my Nathan. I don't know how old Matthew is, but Nate didn't walk until almost 14 months. When he finally did, it was like he'd been doing it for months, so watch
out;-)!

As for throwing....Nathan was the same! Quite the arm at a young age. He absolutely LOVES baseball, and is in his second year of Little League. Bet you have a future baseball star on your hands!

It probably won't be the last time you are outsmarted by your child! Every time I come up with what I think is a clever solution, it seems to get foiled quickly! :) I didn't have any trouble getting mine to walk, but potty training......that's another story! :)

Matthew is hilarious and obviously super smart! I would pay good money to see him be carried out to the mound...

Tish, I have a VERY OPINIONATED view on the recommendation of a camera. For your sake I'll try to keep it short.

The first question you have to answer is "do you want to go Canon or Nikon?" This is more important then you think because once you start buying lenses (which are the MOST IMPORTANT pieces of the photography puzzle) you'll be stuck with that brand of camera. You will constantly change camera bodies, but the lesses SHOULD stay in your life forever.

I personally use Nikon, Mike Colon uses Nikon, I think both Jasmine Star and David Jay are Canon though. There's a million reasons you could go either way, it honestly doesn't really matter which you pick :) I'd suggest searching it on Google for awhile, the preferences will revolve around your shooting style.

Once you choose THAT, then it's easy. Canon has an XTI400D Digital Rebel, and Nikon has a d40x. These are according to your "price range". You can look them up on a website called dpreview.com

I'll stop now, you have plenty of homework already.. Let me know with the questions :)

Oh baby Matthew... having mama run after you will be so much fun. I'll send Kobi over to teach you:) LOL!

(Kobi was a big boy to & walked at 15 mo so have faith) I'd say very soon he'll need those running shoes!

OK that has to be one of the funniest visuals I have ever had! Matthew is adorable... I'm sure his teammates will have no problem carrying him out.

By the way, B was 17 1/2 mos when he started walking. He likes to be carried around too. :)
