Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a program that we support--in addition to local Christmas programs--that shares Christmas love to children around the world. You get a shoebox (which is a good reason to get that new pair of winter boots you've had your eye on), pack it with all kinds of goodies and gifts, and then it is distributed to a child in need. Some people even put a photo of their family in the shoebox, and I read a story of how one couple ended up adopting the child who received their box. Our Thanks-for-the-Day:
Hooray for the Target $1 section which allows us to stuff MORE shoeboxes with MORE gifts!!!!

Awesome! We did something similar this year through our agency - Christmas gifts for orphans at Chung Yi. It was such a great experience especially for the kids!

P.S. We love the $1 Target section too!!!! Every time we go (which is only about 1x per month because the closest Target is 45 mins. away), I let the girls each pick a $1 item. They are in heaven!!!

We did two boxes this year in honor of Reed. You should go to the processing place sometime. We went with our church as a mission trip and my goodness there were TONS of boxes!
