Not only is November the month of giving thanks, but it is also National Adoption Awareness Month. Perhaps you have never considered adoption...you may think, "I've already raised my kids" or "I'm too old" or "It's too expensive" or a myriad of other reasons why adoption is not an option for your family. Well, I encourage you that, as you are giving thanks this month for all of the blessings in your life, you also contemplate the blessings of opening your hearts and homes to an orphaned or abandoned child. I can share many stories of families whose homes were already crowded, whose lives were already "seasoned", and whose bank accounts were already drained, but who answered the call to sacrifice for a little one...and they are blessed beyond measure.
If you do not feel led to adopt, you can still support orphaned children through prayer and/or financial support. There are many organizations that champion for the rights of the fatherless. If you need direction, please let me know!
OUR THANKS-FOR-THE-DAY:
Today Matthew & I went to the park and met there a 15 month old boy and his young mother who is still in high school. When I told her that Matthew has only been with us a short time, she was very sweet and quickly began sharing her "mama wisdom" with me. So today we are thankful for the common bond of motherhood.

Amen!! God doesn't put a desire in your heart without providing a way. It's sad to think that we limit ourselves so often in doing God's work, because we don't trust Him to take care of the details!!
I am thankful too, for the common bond of motherhood. I don't know what I would do without my girlfriends!!!! :)
Matthew is so cute in those pics Tish. I feel like I know you all like personal friends. You have shared so much of your heart & family on your blog! It's been a joy getting to know you. Give hugs to that sweet boy from us.
Rebecca
