what's goin' on...

My friend, Tracy, was oh-so-kind enough to tell me that Feb 3 was Elmo's b-day. She's mean like that because she spends her days with like 15 non-related kids running around her home. Anyway, I felt compelled to add some kindling to the altar of idolatry that is burning in M's little heart and, so, a party for Elmo! Both Big Elmo and Little Elmo came, as well as Frog. We had a candle in M's waffle and sang with great gusto.

Things can get a little windy around here and, during this recent cold snap, the wind was working overtime in our backyard. Here are some shots of M putting the gutter back where it belongs.

Since right before M's birthday, things have been a little crazy. Or maybe I should say M has been a little crazy. He has carried his overachieving personality into his job as a two year old.

When poor Smooch visited, he was so very mean to her...she couldn't even breathe without him throwing a huge fit. Not exaggerating. So glad you spent all that money on a plane ticket, huh, Smooch? Thankfully the last two days have seen relief from the storm of Hurricane Big Two.

His sleep obviously doesn't help the issue. One night SuperScott and I decided to enjoy ourselves and stay out later than 7:00p with M. So we had a fun night at Scott's sister house playing with her Wii. As we were leaving, I proudly said to Scott, "This must be what other parents do...they just enjoy life now and then and let the baby go to bed later."

Oooooh, open wide, Miss Smug...you are about to eat your words.

That night M was up at EVERY single hour of the night except the 3 o'clock hour...and every since he has been waking around 3 am.

Not quite as enjoyable as boxing on the Wii.

But I have been reading a lot about grace lately....because I have needed it so desperately...so soon I may share some stuff that I've read...
Hope all is well with YOU!

William got very excited when he saw this post. He started calling out "Elbow! Elbow!" I don't know what it is about that furry, red guy...

Oooohhh...I hope you get some sleep-filled nights in your very near future. If not - hey, I will start having nightly parties again every few hours as soon as Mallory arrives, so maybe we'll have to schedule a mid-night blog party!

Elmo? Happy birthday to the fuzzy red dude.

Hang in there, friend. This too shall pass.

I will be praying M gets back to sleeping through the night very soon!

Yeah! I love the pictures...glad I could help add a few pages to the scrapbook (or blog).

Also, if you ever need to talk during the night...just give me a call...I'm sure I am up with James! It must be a boy thing because my girls slept great! (by the way, all the bad things he does, I blame on it being a boy thing. Darren doesn't appreciate that so much).

LOVE!

regardless of if M wanted anything to do with me or not, the $233 was $233 well wasted & i would waste it again, even knowing that M wants nothing to do with his only aunt on his mothers side. :0)

oh and happy belated birthday elmo! i cant believe you threw him a party. that takes gusto esp knowing your growing distaste for him. haha. love!

which one was big and which one was little? they look the same to me, but if i said that to M, i'm sure he'd give me a "duh" face and then it would be so obvious. strangely, con picked today to be our cat's bday, so we did the same for the cat.

I love the photos, especially of M doing yardwork! :) Your post had me cracking up... I can't believe that your one night out on the Wii-town ended up with such crazy sleepless payback!! Next time, you & SuperScott get a babysitter and you can box all night. :)
